This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.
Give someone special a Cricut Maker this holiday season. OK, I could very easily say the Cricut Maker is the perfect gift for the DIY and craft lovers in your family. And it is. But I figured I’d show you just why I think the Cricut Maker makes an excellent gift for you or your loved ones this holiday.
My Cricut Maker Story
It’s safe to say 2020 has been insane. Many of us have been home in an effort to stay safe. I, myself have not been home to visit my parents since last Christmas. And it was last Christmas that my dad and sister and brothers gave my mom a Cricut Maker. The look on her face when she opened her present was priceless.
Giving my mom the Cricut Maker was the best decision we’d made, especially given what became of 2020. And a funny thing happened. It was my dad who called all the time initially for DIY project ideas and how-to instructions regarding the Cricut. He and my mom made masks for everyone using the Maker and have designed a lot of vinyl decals hahaha.
And what I discovered was how much the Cricut Maker and the craft projects you can make using the Maker, brought my family together, even when we are all 100s of miles apart.
What Can It Do?
Now let’s talk about what you can make with the Cricut Maker. Of course, you can cut paper and paper products like cardstock, but you can also cut fabric from chiffon to felt, leather, and fleece. And you can cut wood ( thin Basswood and Chipboard). This makes the possibilities of what you can create with the Cricut Maker, endless. If your a seamstress, you can cut patterns out on the Cricut. If you like using wood in your craft projects, you can do this without the need to cut the craftboard by hand. You can even engrave and emboss.
Things You can Make with the Cricut Maker
Using the Cricut Maker, you can make awesome gifts. Last Christmas I made personalized t-shirts for my brothers and sister-in-law. They loved their gifts and it spoke directly to them.

Coasters are always useful and make great gifts. I love that using chipboard and decorative paper, you can create these adorable Sheep Coasters.
With everyone at home this is probably one of my favorite things you can make with the Cricut Maker. This Wooden Elephant Pencil and Phone Holder is a very useful desk accessory for yourself or the kids using chipboard or basswood. And its super cute!
With the Cricut Maker, you can make lighting like these Nursery Night Lights.
Another great thing you can do with the Cricut Maker is embossing acrylic. Anika of Anika’s DIY Life made this awesome LED Display Light.
Finally you can commemorate 2020 by making a personalized picture frame Christmas tree ornament. It’s an excellent gift to send out to your family, near and far.
The Reason
So why does the Cricut Maker make a great gift for yourself or someone special this holiday? It is definitely sure to bring the biggest smile to someone’s face. Just check out that huge grin on my mom’s face.
The Cricut Maker brings families together via crafting, and you can make a ton of really cool things.
