How to Convert a Small Closet Into a Craft Room

If you’re looking for an affordable, creative way to make use of a small closet, you’ll be delighted to learn that it can easily be converted into a craft room! With a budget of around $750, some basic supplies, and three days of hard work, you can have the perfect little space to get your craft on.

It is week 5 of the New Year New Room Challenge and that means it’s. the big reveal. Let’s take a look at how it’s done!

Before

Step One: Clear Out the Closet and Assess Your Space

The first step is to clear out the closet and assess your space. Measure the dimensions and decide what type of storage solutions will work best. You’ll likely need shelving units as well as storage containers for yarns, fabric scraps, ribbons, etc. You might also want to consider adding some hooks or pegs for hanging items like scissors or other tools. Once you’ve determined what type of storage solutions will work best for you, it’s time to hit the hardware store!

Step Two: Preparing Your Space

Once all your supplies are gathered up, it’s time to prepare your space. If needed, paint the walls or add wall decals for an extra bit of pizzazz. Then install any shelving units or other storage solutions that are necessary. Finally, add any decorative touches like area rugs, curtains or artwork that help create the atmosphere that works best for you while crafting. Make sure everything is secure so there’s no risk of things falling off walls or shelves when you’re in full crafting mode!

Step Three: Filling Up Your Craft Room

Now that your craft room is prepped and ready, it’s time to start filling it up with all your crafty goodies! Grab all your supplies – scissors, yarns, fabrics – and place them neatly into their respective storage bins/baskets/containers/etc. Hang up any tools (scissors!) on hooks and organize everything so that it’s easy to find when needed. This is also a great time to think about how often you’ll use certain items vs ones used less often; this will help determine where they should go in the closet-turned-craft room for optimal accessibility.

That’s it – with just three days’ worth of hard work and a budget around $750 dollars total (including supplies), you can transform any small closet into an amazing DIY craft room! Not only does this give you more usable space in your home but it also provides an inspiring environment for creating whatever crafts your heart desires. So don’t wait – start planning out that dream craft room today!
