Pantry Planning in the New House
We’re working on the pantry in our new home. Follow along to see the pantry planning process and inspiration.
It’s been a long road, but we are in our new house. The big things, like bathrooms and kitchens, are done, but there are still a few spaces to complete, and the pantry is the first one on my list.
Our pantry space is long and narrow, but plenty of sunlight pours in through those black-framed windows. I want cabinets to run on the back wall and down the left side—cabinets on the bottom with a countertop and open shelving above.
Pantry Planning Inspiration
I went to Instagram for inspiration. I knew I would find lots of it, and I was right! There were so many! It was overwhelming, and I spent the evening scrolling and taking screenshots of my favorites.
3D Rendering
After spending hours down the pantry design rabbit hole on IG, I sketched out the layout and then went to Fiverr and hired a specialist to create a 3D rendering of the space.
I tried to do the rendering myself, using several different apps, but the learning curve was so high that I gave up in frustration. Trust me, sometimes it’s easier to let someone do it for you.
It took a few emails back and forth to get the details right, but here’s what they came up with. I love it and can’t wait for our pantry to look like this!
Materials We are Planning to Use
The green paint may or may not be this dark. I’m still weighing my options on the final paint color.
We will use full-size cabinets on the back wall and upper cabinets down the left side. The space isn’t deep enough for base cabinets, but uppers will fit.
To save money on the budget, I’m going to do an epoxy pour for the countertop. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it turns out.
If I have enough time, I plan to build the open shelving myself. Life is crazy busy, and things don’t always work out how you plan them to, but I’m going to try.
Stay tuned for progress on this pantry project. The next step is installing the cabinets. Wish me luck!
And Oh Yea… It’s been way too long. I almost forgot… Let’s Get Dirty!
