DIY Wooden Wine Glass Charms
With the holidays come holiday parties. It is absolutely the worst to be at a party, set your glass down, come back and there are two or God forbid 3 identical glasses where you placed your drink. If we were in grade school I’d saw who cares, its all the same. But Ewww. LOL if you’re like me a kind of a germ-o-phobe, I’m betting the odds on picking the right glass. Yea….NO. So here is a quick solution for identifying your glass at your next party. It’s quick, cheap and super easy. These charms compliment the Wine Caddy I showed you all how to make a few months ago.
Materials
- 1″ Wooden dowel
- Ribbon
- Acrylic paint
- Rust-O-Leum Clear Chalkboard paint
Tools
- Saw (Hand or miter saw)
- Scissors
- Drill with at least 1/8 drill bit
OK here’s what you do.
Step 1. Cut the wooden dowel into thin slices (Aprox. 1/4″ in thickness) using saw. I’m using scrap wood that was colored before using a spray paint. I like this look because it gives an extra look to the slices on the edges.
Step 2. Take a sanding sponge and sand down the rough edges.
Step 3. Use a drill bit that is at least 1/8 and drill a hole into the piece.
Step 4. Paint with Acrylic paint. I like this paint because it dries quickly and I love the vibrant colors.
Step 5. Paint over it with the Clear chalkboard paint. Allow time for it to dry.
Step 6. Cut ribbon about 5inches and string up each wooden slice.
Enjoy your drink knowing your picked up the right glass. 😉
