I’m one of those people that needs music when working in my garage or working period.  The struggle is always finding something that still hear over the sound of a saw or drill in motion.  So I was excited at the opportunity to test out the DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Bluetooth Speaker.

The Specs

Before we jump into my thoughts of this speaker let’s start off with the specs and features of the DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Bluetooth Speaker.

  • The Bluetooth connection works up to 100 ft away from the speaker.
  • It’s lightweight and compact so it can be easily stored or carried between worksites.
  • The speaker has a bass reflex port which enhances low-frequency performance.
  • This can be powered by battery or a 120VAC power cord, which comes with it.

  • In addition, the speaker will work with a DEWALT 12V MAX, or 20V MAX, or FLEXVOLT battery.
  • There is an auxiliary input where you can directly plug in your device. And with the USB port, you can charge your phone.

The DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Bluetooth Speaker is at first glance is a rugged device.  It’s rubber and shock absorption exterior let me know right off the back that it would be just fine with the occasional fall or drop.  And I’m so glad I was right because butterfingers kicked in the moment I picked it up and it fell smack dab on the concrete floor of my workshop.  I dusted it off and inspected it.  There wasn’t a scratch in sight.  It truly is jobsite tough. But just in case there is an issue,  this speaker even comes with a 3-year warranty.

The Performance

The DEWALT 20-Volt MAX Bluetooth Speaker‘s Bluetooth range is up to 100 ft.  I tested this feature out by walking away from the speaker and even had a door that divided me from the speaker.  The speaker had no issues picking up my device.  There were no delays or hiccups what so ever.  The sound is was clear and I could hear and feel the bass kick in as I listened to my favorite tunes.

Final Thoughts

I do wish this speaker came with an AM/FM radio but other than that I have absolutely no complaints.  The sound quality is good and the Bluetooth range is stellar. I really like that I can choose to plug it in or use a battery when on the go. This would make a perfect Mother’s or Father’s Day gift.
