These easy DIYs and simple ideas can be done quickly and will make a lovely impact for your seasonal decor. Imagine chilled ice tea, windows open with a warm breeze, and let’s get decorating!

Spring Decorating Ideas Using What You Already Have

Turn your cozy fireplace from fire ready to spring ready by placing a shade plant in place of or in front of your fireplace screen. I placed a Boston fern in a pretty Japanese bowl for a pretty mix of spring colors. Make sure to rotate your green friend every few days for even sunlight.

Make a pillow swap with other rooms (or closets) in your house. Bring out any bright spring colors or florals to the main living area. Layer small prints with big prints, and bold colors over solid or neutral textiles. Think soft pastels or go for a preppy spring overhaul with florals and pops of black and white!

Update old Easter baskets with trim for a pretty storage container, decorative display, and egg collecting. Hot glue ribbon, faux flowers, or handmade tassels or pom-poms for an easy playful spring makeover.

Transform cheap plastic Easter eggs into beautiful spring displays by decoupaging with pretty paper, wrap in ribbon tape, or hand painted botanicals for a display that can be out all season long.

Adorn a floral arrangement in your house with pretty easter eggs by hot gluing a loop of thread at the top of each egg to hang. Not sure what kind of stems to start with? Try Eucalyptus, ferns, or palms for an easy to display greenery.

Repurpose an outdated wreath or floral arrangement into a fresh and modern spring garland. Pick out your favorite stems making sure each one is separated and tie them evenly along with a decorative piece of string like baker’s twine. Drape across your fireplace mantel, mirror, or wall.

Create a stunning monochromatic spring vignette by grouping decor pieces in the same spring inspired color. Start with a wall hanging over an accent piece of furniture and add decor pieces in similar colors varying the size of objects. Odd number groupings are pleasing to the eye!

Assemble an easy floral arrangement with stems from your yard. Even if you only have a few flowers, you can have a lush arrangement with any green leafed stems. Try a few tree branches with fresh blooms or green leaves for a more dramatic arrangement on a larger piece of furniture.

Don’t worry about going out to buy a wreath form to create a spring wreath. Shape faux floral stems or yard clippings into a circle and secure with wire to create a seasonal wall hanging. Enjoy it on a mirror, door, or right on the wall. Mini wreaths can be hung on cabinet pulls or door knobs.

Download and print a spring art piece to place in an existing picture frame for instant seasonal art. Print out on card stock or photo paper for the best outcome. Print multiple pictures for a full spring gallery wall or lean smaller prints on your bookcase shelves.
