Living in the northeast it can get really cold. Often it’s so cold, it makes working in my garage workshop unbearable. So having clothing that can keep me warm and extend the amount of time I can stay in my workshop is invaluable. So I was super excited to test out the RIDGID 18-Volt Heated Jacket with Battery and Charger.

A heated jacket is essentially heated outerwear that is safely powered by a battery source. It’s a great alternative to simply layering on a ton of clothes that can make it impossible to move freely. Now let’s put the RIDGID 18-Volt Heated Jacket with Battery and Charger to the test.

The Power Source

The 18-volt battery back latches on to the power source which then connects to the jacket power cable by way of a DC outlet. The battery once connected can be stored in the pocket or on a belt clip.

Heated Features

The RIDGID 18-Volt Heated Jacket has 3 heating zones to provide maximum warmth in the chest and back area. With the power source activated, simply turn on the power to the jacket by pressing the power button. This button also controls the heat level. This heated jacket has 3 heat settings.

The Design

So the RIDGID 18-Volt Heated Jacket comes in sizes small all the way up to 3XL. There are 4 pockets, big enough to hold your cell phone. The material is Polyester (95%), Spandex (5%) and its water repellant. The hood is removable for added versatility.

Features I Like

This jacket has about a 5 hour run time. Using the USB Power Source you can charge other devices. Now I’m not saying to go out and charge your laptop or some other high capacity device. But it’s great to provide a boost to your cellphone if you’re in a bind.

Overall, the RIDGID 18-Volt Heated Jacket with Battery and Charger is a great option if you’re in the market for heated gear.
