Review of the Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight.

Milwaukee produces a variety of personal lights. The Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight is one of them. This flashlight is a member of the REDLITHIUM USB powered set of flashlights.


 

Specifications and Features

The Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight has a pivoting head that rotates on the vertical 110 degrees.  It has two illumination mode spot and floodlight mode.

On the spot mode, the unit emits a bright 500 lumen light that runs for 2.5 hours when the battery is fully charged. If you need that mode for prolong use, simply change the light to one of its 2  floodlight modes.

There are 2  flood light modes are high and low.

  • Flood high – 400 lumen and runs for 3 hours
  • Flood low – 100 lumen and runs for 10 hours.

The light beam distance is 155 meters.  The Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight comes with a 2 feet heavy duty rechargeable cable USB micro cable.  In addition, the base of the flashlight is magnetic.  Users can attach it to metal ferrous metal material.  It’s great for creating a handsfree lit work area.

Additional specifications for the nerd girls and guys out there is the Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight is graded IP54. This means this flashlight can be used in extreme outdoor conditions.  It’s also water and dust and chemical resistant. The flashlight can also withstand impact.   

Use of the Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight

Inserting battery

  1. Twist the cap and remove.
  2. Line up the battery with the compartment and fully insert the battery.
  3. Replace the cap and twist to secure.

Charging the battery

  1. Plug your USB cable into a power source such as an AC wall adaptor, computer or car port. Charge rate varies depending on the power source maximum output.
  2. Lift the rubber cover to expose the micro USB port. Insert the micro USB plug into the micro USB port.
  3. The indicator light will display the charging status.

Red Solid: Charging, 0-79% charged

Green Flashing: Charging, 80-99% charged.

Green Solid:100% charged.

Red/Green Flashing: Damaged or Faulty Battery

If the light indicator flashes red and green, check that the battery is fully seated into the bay. Remove and reinsert the battery. If the battery is extremely hot or cold or wet. Allow the battery to cool down, warm up or dry out and then reinsert.

Operation

Press the power button to turn the light on and off. Press the MODE button to cycle through Spot, Flood High and Flood Low. The indicator light will display the battery life:

Red Flashing: 0-3% remaining

Red Solid: 3-10%remaining.

Yellow Solid: 11-49% remaining

Green Solid: 50-100% remaining.

 

Final Thoughts

Milwaukee 500-Lumen LED Pivoting Rechargeable Flashlight is a really solid flashlight.  This is a great flashlight for the job site. It is also a great flashlight for outdoor use.  It’s durable and can withstand a lot.  This would also be great for keeping in the car in case of an emergency or in a survival or emergency kit.

  1. Milwaukee got it perfect with the pivoting light……well almost perfect.
    It’s a great light however I wish they would stop bleeding our wallets dry.
